About the role

We're looking for several bar staff to join the growing team.

Responsibilities include:
- Serving our full range of alcoholic and soft drinks.
- Taking orders and payments from customers on our POS system.
- Building brilliant relationships with all stakeholders (customers, teammates, suppliers, etc.).
- Going above and beyond to deliver personal customer service.
- Changing barrels, re-stocking fridges, collecting, washing and replenishing glassware.
- Cleaning tables, toilets, floors and other areas according to cleaning schedule.
- Opening and closing the Pavilion following agreed procedures.
- Being a team-player, working collaboratively with other Howlers.
- Being able to work under pressure when things are busy and proactively spot what needs to be done when it's quiet.
- Once you've got used to how we do things, letting us know how we can make them better.
- Having the flexibility to work additional shifts, and different timings as required.
- Maintaining the brilliant ambience we're known for by making sure our music, lighting, table layout are always creating the right vibe for customers.
- Getting the basics right by adhering to hygiene, health and safety policies.
- Supporting other areas of operation, such as coffee shop or kitchen as needed.


  • 1-2 years of previous bar experience.

  • Must be 18 years old to serve alcohol.

  • Barista experience advantageous but not required. Must be willing to learn if not.

About the Company

Howling Owl is a fast growing start up business focussing on two industries: events production and hospitality. This role will be focussed on the hospitality side, 'The Pavilion by Howling Owl', where we serve a range of barista-made coffees, cakes, snacks, pizzas, soft drinks and alcohol. The newly renovated Pavilion has had a brilliant response from the local community and we've seen customer traffic increase month on month since launch. Understanding the unique community we serve is vital for anyone joining us. We deal with a wide variety of customers and we try to consistently go above and beyond to create a great experience for all of them. We're always innovating, coming up with new ideas, and ways to make things better, so applicants should be comfortable in a fast-moving busy environment. We're a relatively small team of around 15 staff, but given our growth this is changing all the time.
